- Sudan mission
Three months have expired since the beginning of the Ukrainian Helicopters operations in Sudan. The Aviation Company is carrying out a transport support of the UN DPKO and African Union (UNAMID) joint mission in this country. The main task of the mission is to pacify the restless region of Darfur where the civil opposition lasts more than twenty years.
So, it is necessary to transport the peace-support forces to the hard-to-reach zones of the country or to organize the meetings of the negotiation process participants. Nevertheless, it is not less important for five company aircraft operating in Sudan to provide the humanitarian aid for the local population. This support has a shape of medical assistance or delivery of drugs or even articles of prime necessity to organize the daily life.
Our pilots efforts can be expressed in two main figures: during the mentioned period they transported more than 5 thousand people of peacekeeping forces and 400 tons of cargo.

- Humanitarian assistance to a distant island
It is becoming traditional for Ukrainian Helicopters pilots, to come to the Madagascar people’s relief when prejudiced by the devastating effect of tropical hurricanes. This time thousand of families are left without a roof over their heads in the eastern part of the island, under the action of the cyclone with the eloquent name “Ivan the Terrible”.
Like the previous year, the main operations were related to the humanitarian cargo transportation to the villages which are inaccessible to the overland mode of transport. During less than one month the Aviation Company transported 260 tons of foodstuff. A considerable part of it was transported on external sling being this mode of transportation more economic and faster. Mr. Roger Berriaux, the representative of the World Food Programme who accompanied the operations, said the utilization factor of the aircraft was rather high and achieved 105%.
